World Traveller
Mallory Maclellan has visited and experienced many global destinations in her life thus far. She’s seen the Dominican Republic, England, Scotland, Spain, Belgium, Germany, France, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Mozambique, Turks and Caicos, and Swaziland, as well as a number of states within the United States including Florida, Washington, and parts of New England.
Ever since her childhood, travelling was in Mallory Maclellan’s blood. Her interest in seeing the world was often sparked by her aunt and uncle, two globetrotters who would bring her trinkets and gifts from places all over. As a child, Mallory and her parents and siblings would take one big trip every year, exposing them to all different kinds of places. Often their trip was just hopping in the car to travel to New England or Quebec, but other years they travelled to Florida, Seattle, and the Dominican Republic on bigger trips.
Having seen glimpses of how gorgeous and exciting the world can be, Mallory Maclellan promised herself that before she turned 25 she would travel to Europe; the year she hit her quarter-century she travelled to the Glastonbury Music Festival in England and visit Scotland and see her Scottish roots in person. Since then, she’s returned to Europe a number of times and the list of places she has travelled is quite extensive: she’s visited England, Scotland, France, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Morocco, Swaziland, Mozambique, the Dominican Republic, and Turks and Caicos, as well as many of the states in the U.S. In 2014, Mallory combined her love for travel with her desire to help others and volunteered on a trip abroad to South Africa to help build schools there. Seeing the gratitude that people had and helping make a change in this world made Mallory thankful for all she has and driven to help others in her life.
For Mallory, the most freeing part of travelling is the way she can disconnect from the grind and stress of everyday life and reconnect with the world around her. When she’s visiting a new place, she’s not worried about bills or appointments or obligations; in fact, she likes to turn her phone off to further remove the distractions from her mind.
In an ideal world, Mallory Maclellan would never stop travelling. Her life would be filled by discovering new places and soaking up the unfamiliar sites, but unfortunately that reality just isn’t feasible. So, as a compromise, Mallory makes sure that she takes at least one trip a year just for herself; though, with a family as widespread as hers is, she usually gets to travel three or four times a year including trips to see them. Her current travel goal is to visit every NFL stadium in the United States with her boyfriend, and next year she’s aiming to see her favorite team, the Eagles, play in Philadelphia.
Another big part of Mallory’s life is running and exercise, something she can easily combine with her love for travel to help her have a more full and immersive travel experience. Whenever she visits a new place, she likes to go for a run and familiarize herself with the area on foot, absorbing each destination in a way she couldn’t otherwise.
